Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Nilmot Solutions LLC d/b/a NuSoftVA ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use Tree Studio ("Service").

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you sign in with GitHub, we receive your GitHub user ID and username. We do not receive your email address or password.

Tree data: Any trees you save to the cloud are stored in Azure Blob Storage under your user ID. This data is private to your account unless you generate a share link.

Usage data: We may collect anonymous usage analytics (page views, feature usage) to improve the Service. This data is not linked to your identity.

Billing information: If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your payment card information — Stripe handles it entirely.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the Service
• To associate your saved trees with your account
• To process payments and manage subscriptions
• To send transactional emails (e.g., payment receipts) — we do not send marketing emails without your consent
• To improve the Service through aggregate, anonymous analytics

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Microsoft Azure — infrastructure and storage provider
• GitHub — authentication provider
• Stripe — payment processor (paid plans only)

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy governing their use of data.

4. Public and Shared Trees

When you generate a share link or embed code, the associated tree becomes publicly accessible to anyone with the URL. You can revoke this by deleting the tree from your account. We are not responsible for any distribution of shared links by third parties.

5. Data Retention

Your tree data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete a tree, it is removed from storage. If you close your account, all associated data is deleted within 30 days.

6. Security

Tree data is stored in Azure Blob Storage with access controlled by authenticated user prefixes. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We apply reasonable security measures, but no system is completely secure.

7. Cookies

Tree Studio uses a session cookie to maintain your authenticated state (managed by Azure Static Web Apps). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

8. Children's Privacy

Tree Studio is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing contact@nusoftva.com. We will respond within 30 days.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via a notice in the application. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
